Overview
Pictory is an AI video platform launched in 2020. You give it a script, a prompt, a blog URL, a PowerPoint file, or images, and it builds a video from its licensed stock library (Getty Images and Storyblocks footage on paid plans), adds an AI voiceover and captions, and lets you swap clips scene by scene. Its other main job is repurposing: upload a webinar, Zoom call, or video podcast, and Pictory transcribes it, picks the key moments, and cuts them into short clips you edit by editing the text. It also offers AI avatars, voice cloning, and brand kits.
Jellypod is an AI podcast studio that also makes long narrated videos. You describe a topic or upload a PDF, slide deck, or document, pick an art-directed style such as whiteboard, paper cutout, or stickman, and Jellypod writes the narration, generates illustrated scenes timed to it, and renders a 1080p MP4 with word-synced captions, up to 25 minutes long. The same script can also become a hosted podcast episode.
Jellypod vs Pictory verdict
The choice comes down to what should be on screen: footage someone filmed, or scenes drawn for your script.
Choose Pictory when the video should look filmed, or when you already have the recording. It is the stronger tool for turning a webinar or video podcast into social clips, for blog-to-video with real-world stock footage, and for putting an avatar on screen. Jellypod does none of those.
Choose Jellypod when stock footage is the part that fails. A script about compound interest gets coins and handshakes from a stock search. Jellypod draws a chart of the money growing, in one style from the first scene to the last. It also starts from a PDF, which Pictory does not list as an input. The difference is where the visuals come from
Pictory searches. For each sentence it looks for stock clips that match the words, and you replace any that miss. That works well for concrete subjects (a city skyline, a person typing, a product on a desk) and less well for ideas, processes, and numbers, where the closest clip is often generic. The result looks like a filmed video because it is made of filmed footage.
Jellypod generates. The narration comes first, and a scene is drawn for each line, so the picture shows what the sentence says. Each style has its own look, motion rules, and a quality standard that generated frames are checked against, and a recurring character gets a reference sheet that later scenes are drawn against. The tradeoff is that Jellypod makes illustrated video only: no stock footage, no photoreal scenes, no avatars, and no editing of footage you recorded yourself.
Pricing
As of September 2026, Pictory's pricing page lists no free plan, only a free trial (its help center says 14 days). Starter is $29/mo, or $25/mo billed annually, with 200 video minutes a month, 1 brand kit, and ElevenLabs voice minutes. Professional is $59/mo, or $35/mo billed annually, with 600 video minutes, custom avatars, voice cloning, and a larger stock library. Team is $199/mo, or $119/mo billed annually, with 1,800 video minutes and a shared workspace for 3 or more users. Enterprise is custom and adds SSO and SCORM export through Pictory Central. Video minutes, AI credits, and ElevenLabs voice minutes are separate allowances, so check which one a project will use up first.
Jellypod starts with a 7-day free trial, and paid plans start at $25/mo for the Starter plan billed annually, as of September 2026. Video runs to 15 minutes on Starter and Educator, 20 on Creator, and 25 on Business, at 1080p. Credits are spent when narration and visuals are generated, so rendering, publishing, and downloading stay free. Slides, PDFs, and podcasts
Pictory's PPT to video takes PPT and PPTX files up to 30 slides and can read your speaker notes as the narration. Jellypod's voiceovers do the same job from speaker notes, and its video generator can also take a PDF or document and produce a new illustrated explainer rather than keeping your slides on screen.
On podcasts, Pictory works with recordings you already have: it turns audio into video and cuts clips from a video podcast. It has no hosting or RSS feed. Jellypod's AI podcast generator writes and voices multi-host episodes from a topic, URL, or document and publishes them through a hosted RSS feed.
Who should choose each
Choose Pictory to repurpose webinars, Zoom calls, and video podcasts into short clips, to turn blog posts into stock-footage videos for social, or when you want an avatar presenter.
