Write who your character is and how they speak, and Voice Design generates several previews to match. Keep your favorite and it becomes that character’s voice.

Each designed voice is tuned to the language of its backstory and works in every product. Keep up to 50, or clone your own voice instead.

How to use AI Voice Design

  1. Step 01

    Describe the character

    Create a character and write their name and backstory.

  2. Step 02

    Generate voice previews

    In the Voice Library step, click Voice Design, then Generate Voice.

  3. Step 03

    Keep your favorite

    Play the previews and click Use This Voice on the one that fits.

Start from a backstory

Personality, background, speaking style, and expertise all shape the voice. The more specific the backstory, the closer the match.

Compare previews, keep the best

Play several previews side by side, regenerate if none fit, and click Use This Voice on your favorite.

Native in the language you write

Write the backstory in French and you get a voice tuned to sound native in French. The language of the text sets the voice. Read the help guide.

What is AI voice design?

How many voices can I design?
Your workspace can keep up to 50 designed voices.
How do I get a voice in another language?
Write the backstory in the language you want the voice tuned for. Voice Design uses the language of the text, not a nationality it mentions, and defaults to English.
What if none of the previews fit?
Click Regenerate Previews to get a new set of options from the same backstory, or add detail to the backstory first. Enhance Backstory can add depth for you.
Where can I use a designed voice?
Yes. A designed voice belongs to a character, so it can narrate AI podcasts, videos, shorts, and voiceovers.
