There are two ways to add voiceover to PowerPoint: record it yourself in PowerPoint, or upload the deck and let Jellypod write and voice the narration.
In PowerPoint for Microsoft 365, select Record near the upper right and speak through the slides, or, on Windows, use Insert > Audio > Record Audio for a single slide. Upload the .pptx to PowerPoint to video and Jellypod writes and voices the narration, with your slides still on screen.
Your slide stays in the preview, and the timeline keeps each slide under the audio.
How do you record a PowerPoint voice over?
Recording in PowerPoint uses your own voice and a microphone, and you fix a mistake by re-recording that slide.
In PowerPoint for Microsoft 365, Record a presentation gives these steps:
- Open the slide you want to start recording from.
- Near the upper right corner of the PowerPoint window, select Record.
- When you are ready, select the round, red Record button, wait for the countdown, then start speaking.
Record your presentation says each recording is stored on that slide, so you can re-record one slide without redoing the rest. In the Record window, select Delete to remove the take on the current slide (or on all slides) and record it again, or select Clear to delete the recorded narration (Record a slide show with narration and slide timings).
On Windows, you can record a clip on the open slide instead of the whole show. Add or delete audio in your PowerPoint presentation lists:
- Select Insert > Audio.
- Select Record Audio.
- Enter a name for your audio file, select Record, and then speak.
- To review the recording, select Stop and then select Play.
- Select Record to re-record your clip, or select OK if you are satisfied.
How does Jellypod add the voiceover?
Upload the .pptx on PowerPoint to video. Jellypod writes the narration and voices it, and each slide stays up for the narration it supports.
Speaker notes in a .pptx are context for that slide's narration. A deck with no notes is narrated from the slides, and you can choose from 3,300+ voices in 121 languages.
Edit any line, then choose Regenerate Audio to re-voice that line. Regenerating costs no credits once the voiceover has audio, within a daily limit, and the first narration costs 30 credits per minute.
Choose Download Video (MP4). The Free plan starts with 500 one-time credits and no credit card, and you can create, edit, and preview on it. Rendering and downloading need the 7-day free trial or a paid plan.
If you would rather publish an episode than a video, export the deck to PDF and use slides to podcast. A PDF keeps the slide text and drops the speaker notes, so use the PowerPoint file when those notes should shape the video.
