Voice Library: search, preview and pick a voice

Where to find the Voice Library

The Voice Library lists 3,300+ professional AI voices across 121 languages. Open Characters and Voices in the Studio sidebar (see Characters and Voices) and it is the Explore tab, the default view. It also appears in the voice step when you create a character manually or edit one and choose Voice Library as the voice type.

Each voice is tuned to one language and accent, so filter by the language your content will be in. See how languages and accents work.

Instead of the Library, you can clone your own voice, generate a voice from a backstory, or bring in voices from ElevenLabs.

What each row shows

• A play button and a text description of how the voice sounds.
• The language the voice is native in, with a flag and its accent in brackets where it has one, for example English (British). Most voices have no distinct regional accent, so the language stands alone.
• The voice's gender.
• A heart to favorite the voice.

The table shows ten voices per page, with page controls underneath.

Search and filter

The search bar matches voice descriptions, languages, accents and tags (for example "conversational", "Spanish" or "British"). Typing searches the whole catalog, even with filters set, so a standing filter never hides a voice you are hunting for. Click the x in the search box to clear it and bring your filters back.

The Filters button beside the search bar holds:

• Gender
• Favorites only

Under the search bar:

• Language appears when the library holds more than one language.
• Accent appears when the voices on offer span more than one accent. Picking a language narrows it to that language's accents. An accent that no single flag stands for shows a globe.
• Tag chips filter by how a voice sounds: Warm, Friendly, Clear, Narrative, Authoritative and Lively. Every voice has at least one.

Preview, select and favorite

Click a play button to hear a sample. Only one voice plays at a time.

On the Explore tab, click Use This Voice on a row to start a new character with that voice. In the voice step of the character form, click anywhere on a row to select it, and the row highlights.

Click the heart to favorite a voice. Favorites are saved to your account, show a filled heart, and sort to the top of the list. Use Favorites only to see just those.

Automatic sorting

The Library orders voices for you: favorites first, then voices in your browser's language, then the rest of the catalog. For languages split into regional accents, your country picks the accent when it agrees with your browser's language (American English for a US browser reading English, British English for a UK one). If it disagrees or your country is not recognized, the Library uses your browser's language tag for the accent, then no accent preference.

Featured characters

A Featured row above the Library on the Explore tab shows up to eight ready-made characters, each with a name, backstory and voice already set. They speak your language, plus English, and never appear in a language you do not speak. Featured characters are separate from your workspace's default characters.

Click a card to see its tagline, traits, best-for guidance and a voice sample, then click Add to My Characters. A character already in your workspace shows an Added badge, and its button reads Character already exists. At your plan's character limit, adding opens an upgrade dialog (You've reached your character limit). Archiving a character frees a slot. See plan limits for the cap on each plan.
