Voice Library: search, preview and pick a voice

Where to find the Voice Library

The Voice Library lists 3,300+ professional AI voices across 121 languages. Click Voices in the Studio sidebar (see Characters and Voices). It also appears in the voice step when you create a character manually or edit one and choose Voice Library as the voice type.

Each voice is tuned to one language and accent, so filter by the language your content will be in. See how languages and accents work.

Instead of the Library, you can clone your own voice with Create Voice Clone at the top of the Voices page, or bring in voices from ElevenLabs.

Browse the Voices page

The top of the Voices page always shows two ways in, whether or not you have searched or filtered below:

• Top voices for you: six hosts, narrators and presenters in your language, each labeled with its accent and gender. Press a voice's avatar to hear it, or anywhere else on the card to start a Character with it.
• Hand-Curated Voice Collections: hand-picked sets such as Warm co-hosts, Authoritative anchors and Story-driven narrators, with up to ten voices in each of their languages. An open collection shows one language at a time: it starts on your browser's language (or English when the collection has none in yours), and the language picker beside its search switches it.

Below those, the Browse section holds a third way in:

• Browse: pick a language at the top right, and every accent it is spoken in appears as its own tile, grouped by country, with countries heard in a single accent (Australia, New Zealand, South Africa) sharing an Other row. English lists the United States (American, New York, Southern US, Midwest and more), the United Kingdom (British, London, Liverpool, Welsh and more), Canada, India and others, plus second-language accents such as French, French Canadian, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Mexican, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Korean, each a voice that reads English with that accent (for example "English (French)"); Spanish lists Mexico, Latin America (Colombian, Argentine, Chilean) and Spain (Madrid, Barcelona); Japanese lists Japanese, Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. A language with no regional accents, such as Dutch, shows all its voices in one tile.

The page starts on your own language and puts your accent first.

Click a collection or an accent to open its voices directly below it; its arrow turns to show it is open. Every open list has its own search. Click the collection or accent again, or the x, to close it. The page address records what is open, so you can bookmark or share it.

What each row shows

• A painted avatar you click to play the voice, the voice's description, and its role and styles (for example Host · Warm, Friendly).
• The language the voice is native in, with a flag and its accent in brackets where it has one, for example English (British), and the voice's gender beneath it (Other when the voice has none).
• A heart to favorite the voice, and Use voice to start a new character with it.

Lists show 20 voices a page (10 in an open list). Use the arrows under a list to move between pages.

Search and filter

The search bar matches voice descriptions, languages, accents and tags (for example "conversational", "Spanish" or "British"). Languages also match by their own name, so "español" or "français" works too. Search combines with any filter you have set.

To the right of the search bar:

• Language appears when the library holds more than one language.
• Accent appears when the voices on offer span more than one accent. Picking a language narrows it to that language's accents. An accent that no single flag stands for shows a globe.
• The Filters button holds Style (Warm, Friendly, Clear, Narrative, Authoritative or Lively), Gender and Favorites only. On a phone, Language and Accent sit inside Filters as well.

Under the search bar:

• Format chips narrow to a kind of show: Podcast hosts, Storytelling, Educational, News, Coaching and advice and Comedy.

Searching or filtering replaces the Browse section with the matching voices; Top voices for you and Hand-Curated Voice Collections stay in place above it. Click Clear all to go back to Browse.

Preview, select and favorite

Click a voice's avatar to hear a sample. Only one voice plays at a time.

Click Use voice on a row to start a new character with that voice. In the voice step of the character form, click anywhere on a row to select it, and the row highlights.

Click the heart to favorite a voice. Favorites are saved to your account and show a filled heart. Use Favorites only under Filters to see just those.

Once you have listened to a voice's preview, thumbs up and thumbs down buttons appear beside its name so you can rate it. A thumbs down also opens a dialog where you can describe what sounded off, which is optional and can be skipped.

Automatic sorting

The Library orders voices for you: favorites first, then voices in your browser's language, then the rest of the catalog. For languages split into regional accents, your country picks the accent when it agrees with your browser's language (American English for a US browser reading English, British English for a UK one). If it disagrees or your country is not recognized, the Library uses your browser's language tag for the accent, then no accent preference.

Featured characters

The Explore tab of the Characters page opens with a Featured row of up to eight ready-made characters, each with a name, backstory and voice already set. They speak your language, plus English, and never appear in a language you do not speak. Featured characters are separate from your workspace's default characters.

Click a card to see its tagline, traits, best-for guidance and a voice sample, then click Add to My Characters. A character already in your workspace shows an Added badge, and its button reads Character already exists. At your plan's character limit, adding opens an upgrade dialog (You've reached your character limit). Archiving a character frees a slot. See plan limits for the cap on each plan.
