Brand kits: save colors and logos and apply them

Create a brand kit from your website or manually, set an organization default, and apply it to your podcast website, shorts and Magic Video.

What a brand kit holds

A brand kit is a reusable set of colors and logos owned by your organization, not by one podcast. It has a name, an optional source website, five color roles (Primary, Secondary, Accent, Background and Text) and optional logos for light and dark backgrounds. Your organization can save several kits and mark one as the default. Only Primary is required.

Your plan sets how many kits you can save, see plan limits. On a plan without brand kits, the Brand Kits page says so and no brand choices appear in the composers.

Create a brand kit

Open Brand Kits in the Personalize section of the Studio sidebar and click New Brand Kit. Then choose one of two starts:

  • Create from website: enter your website URL. Jellypod looks for a brand name, logos and colors, then opens the editor pre-filled. Nothing is saved until you review and confirm the values.
  • Set up manually: open the same editor with empty fields.

In the editor, enter a Brand name (required, and unique within your organization), pick each color with the color wheel or a hex value, and upload Logo for light backgrounds and Logo for dark backgrounds if you have them. Logos accept PNG, JPG or WebP files up to 3 MB, and a transparent background works best.

Set an organization default

Each kit card on the Brand Kits page has a Set as default button. The current default shows a Default badge instead. New shorts and videos start from the default kit, and a podcast with no brand choice of its own follows it.

Use a brand kit

On a podcast

Your podcast's website accent color follows its brand kit, and the kit is resolved live, so editing the kit's colors updates the live website. To choose a kit for a podcast, use the Brand card in Edit Podcast: pick Organization default, another kit, or a Custom Primary override for that podcast only. The website editor shows the result as a read-only Brand accent swatch. See your podcast website for the rest of the site.

On a short or video

When your organization has at least one kit, the composer shows a Brand control that starts on your default kit (or the first kit if none is default). Use Change to pick another kit or No Brand Kit for that creation. See creation settings for the other composer options.

Every video style declares how much of a kit it uses, shown as Full (the whole palette), Accent (accent color only) or None (the style keeps its own colors). A compatible style applies your colors, and its captions where relevant, but the style still controls its own art direction and caption layout. The visual styles page shows the level for each style.

Video snapshots the kit when it is generated. Editing a kit's colors or logos later does not recolor a short or video you already made. To pick up the change, generate it again.

Edit or delete a brand kit

Click a kit's card to open its editor, or use its menu and choose Delete Brand Kit. Deleting a kit detaches it from every podcast that used it, including podcasts that followed it as the default. Each of those podcasts keeps the kit's colors and logos as its own custom identity, so nothing changes visually. Video you already generated is unaffected.

If you delete the default kit and other kits remain, you must first choose a replacement default. Deleting your only kit needs no replacement.

Troubleshooting

  • No Brand control in the composer: you have no brand kits yet, or your plan does not include them.
  • New Brand Kit opens an upgrade prompt: you have reached your plan's kit limit (the page notes "Your plan's Brand Kit limit is reached"). Delete a kit, or check your plan limits.
  • A logo will not upload: use a PNG, JPG or WebP under 3 MB.
  • A kit name is rejected: another kit in your organization already uses it.
  • A video ignored my colors: its style is likely None, or Accent so only the accent color applies. Check the styles table.
