Magic Video vs Shorts vs Voiceovers: which to use
Compare Magic Video, Shorts, Voiceovers and podcast episode video: what you provide, visuals, orientation, hosts, music, brand kit and watermark.
Magic Video, Shorts and Voiceovers are three separate Products that share the same Videos collection in Studio. The difference is where the visuals come from: Jellypod generates them for Magic Video and Shorts, and Voiceovers use the files you supply.
Which should I use?
- Magic Video: a longer video with generated visuals, landscape by default.
- Shorts: a 30 or 60 second portrait video with generated visuals.
- Voiceovers: you already have documents and images, and want Jellypod to write and time narration around them.
- Episode video: you want a video version of a podcast episode, not a new Product.

For Magic Video and Shorts, the visual style and orientation cannot be changed after generation begins. Generated scripts assign hosts for you: reassign paragraphs in the editor to change who speaks them. Custom watermarks and logos are available on Creator, Business, and Enterprise.

Episode video is different
An episode can also be rendered as video, but that is not one of these Products. It uses one of six fixed Podcast Templates, and nothing is generated. No episode carries generated visuals: an episode that once used Magic Video now has that video in your Videos library instead, titled after the episode.
To get a real Magic Video Product from an episode's narration, with generated visuals, create a Magic Video from the episode instead. It reuses the episode's narration and music without resynthesizing audio, and the two stay independently editable. You can also go the other way and copy a Video into a Podcast.
