Supported source types, formats and size limits
Add websites, YouTube videos, pasted text and files (PDF, Word, PowerPoint, audio, video, images) as sources, with the 100 MB and 250-page limits.
You can add a source as a file, a website link, a YouTube link or pasted text. Each source lives in your Asset Library, and source levels control where it is used.
How do I add a source?
- Click the
+button next to the chat input to open Add Sources. - Pick an option:
- Search your Asset Library to reuse an existing source.
- Click Upload files, or drop files anywhere in the dialog.
- Click Website, paste a public URL, then click Add website.
- Click Paste text, type or paste your content, then click Add text.
- Click YouTube, paste a link, then click Add YouTube video.
On the new content start screen, pasting 2,000 or more characters into the chat input converts the text into a source automatically.
Which file types can I upload?
Each file can be up to 100 MB.

For other file formats, export to one of the supported formats before uploading.
For video, your browser extracts the audio before upload. If it cannot decode the video's audio, upload an MP3, M4A or WAV file instead, or try an updated browser.
Voiceover uploads have their own file rules. NotebookLM audio is imported, not added as a source.
What is the PDF page limit?
A PDF can have up to 250 pages per source.
- Uploaded in the Studio: a longer PDF is trimmed to its first 250 pages and added as one source, named with a
_splitsuffix. A warning tells you how many pages were kept. Upload the remaining pages as a separate file to include them. - Added any other way: a PDF over the limit fails with an error that shows its page count. Split it into smaller files.
- Blank or corrupted PDFs: these are rejected. Re-export the file from the original document.
Which websites and YouTube videos work?
Jellypod reads the content of any publicly accessible page: articles, documentation and company pages. Pages behind a paywall or login may fail. Paste the text instead.
For YouTube, Jellypod analyzes the video itself, so the link must be valid and public. Private or unavailable videos are rejected.
