What are sources? Reference material for AI
Sources are files, links and text Jellypod reads as context. Learn the podcast, episode and character source levels and which Products use them.
Sources are files, links and text you give Jellypod as reference material, such as an article, a company overview, a YouTube interview or a PDF report. Jellypod extracts the content and the Podcast Agent uses it to stay accurate and on topic when it writes.
Sources are optional. Without them, the agent can research the topic itself with web research. Two or three focused sources work better than ten vague ones.
Source levels
- Podcast level: attached to the series, so every episode can draw on them. Best for evergreen material like brand guidelines, company overviews or host bios. You can attach up to 3 per podcast, managed under Podcast Sources in Edit Podcast on an existing podcast. In the Podcast Agent chat they carry a Podcast Source label.
- Episode level: added in the chat for one episode, such as the article behind this week's episode or a guest interview. Podcast episodes have no fixed limit.
Use podcast sources for background and voice, then add episode sources for the topic at hand.
Which Products use sources
- Podcasts: the Podcast Agent reads podcast and episode sources when it writes the script.
- Magic Video and Shorts: sources are research for the script.
- Voiceovers: files you upload are the visuals, not research.
A source that already reads like a finished script is read word for word instead of rewritten. See attaching a script as a source for how Jellypod decides and how to override it.
