Creating Shorts
Generate a vertical video Short from a prompt or source, ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Starting a New Short
- Navigate to Shorts in the studio sidebar.
- Type a prompt describing what you want the Short to be about, or attach a source (a file, link, or pasted text) using the sources button.
- Pick a host to narrate the Short.
- Choose a target duration: ~30 seconds or ~60 seconds.
- Click Generate Short.
If you leave the prompt empty but attach a source, Jellypod creates a Short from that source automatically.
Generating a Short costs 5 credits per second of its final duration. For example, a 30 second Short costs about 150 credits. See Understanding Credits for details.
What Jellypod Generates
A Short is a fully produced vertical (9:16) video, built automatically from your prompt:
- Narration, written and performed in your chosen host's voice
- Paper Collage visuals, an animated illustrated style generated shot by shot to match the narration
- An original instrumental score, composed for the Short and ducked under the narration
- Word-synced captions, on by default
Generation runs in the background and can take a few minutes. Jellypod shows the Short's workspace as soon as the script, visuals, music, and a first render are ready.
Paper Collage is currently the only visual style, and Shorts always render in vertical 9:16 format.

What video style do Shorts use?
Paper Collage, an animated illustrated style, is currently the only Short style.
How long can a Short be?
Choose a target length of about 30 or 60 seconds when you create it. The final render may vary slightly to match the narration.
