Download a transcript, captions or script text
Download your episode's transcript as .txt, captions as SRT for YouTube and video editors, or the editable script as a .txt file, and why an option is grayed out.

Download the transcript or captions
The transcript and captions files are generated when the episode is published or rendered for download, so publishing an episode creates them. Captions are built from the audio's timing data, so an episode without that data has no captions file.
From the episode page:
- Open the episode from your podcast's episode list.
- Scroll to the Transcript section and click Download Transcript.
- Choose Transcript (.txt) or Captions (.srt).
The Transcript (.txt) file lists each chapter title, then each turn as the speaker name in brackets (for example [Host Name]) followed by the text. It downloads as Episode Title_transcript.txt.
From the episode list: click the three-dot menu on the episode row, then Download Captions (SRT). The file downloads as Episode Title_captions.srt. This item only appears once the episode has a captions file.
On the episode page, an option is grayed out when its file does not exist yet (the Transcript section is hidden if neither exists). Publish or render the episode to generate them. To get text before then, use the script export below.
SRT is the standard timed-caption format. Upload it to YouTube, social platforms and most video editors that support subtitles.
Download the script as text
This exports the editable script, so it works on any episode with a script, published or not. The same export is in the Magic Video, Shorts and Voiceover workspace.
- Open the episode, Magic Video, Shorts or Voiceover workspace and click the three-dot menu in the actions area (tooltip Import / Export).
- Click Export Script.
A .txt file downloads, named after the episode or video title. Each turn is the speaker name in brackets (for example [Host Name]) on one line, then the text. If the script is empty, you get "This episode has no script to export yet." instead. To bring a script back in, see Use your own script.
