Managing Shorts

Track, edit, share, download, and delete your Shorts from the Shorts Library and workspace.

The Shorts Library

Navigate to Shorts in the studio sidebar to see your Shorts Library, a grid sorted by most recently updated. Each card shows the Short's title and when it was last edited. The library shows 10 Shorts per page; use Previous and Next below the grid to page through the rest.

While a Short is still generating, its card isn't clickable and shows a status label instead:

  • Generating: Jellypod hasn't produced a playable render yet.
  • Preparing: the script, visuals, and music are done and a render is in progress.
  • Updating: you can already open the Short (it has a playable render), but a background job, like a narration or visual regeneration, is still running.
  • Needs attention: generation failed. Use Retry generation on the card to try again, or delete it from the card's ••• menu.

Once a Short has a playable render, click its card to open its full editable workspace.

Card Actions

Every card has a Download button and a ••• menu, whatever stage the Short is at:

  • Download downloads the current render directly, without opening the workspace. It's disabled until the Short has a playable render.
  • Edit opens the same workspace as clicking the card; disabled until the Short can be opened.
  • Rename changes the Short's title from a dialog, up to 120 characters.
  • Delete permanently removes the Short, its renders, and any AI-generated media created for it, whether the Short is still generating, finished, or failed. This can't be undone.

The Short Workspace

Opening a Short shows its editable workspace, organized around a rail of visuals above one continuous narration field:

  • Visuals: a horizontal rail shows every shot in order. Click a visual to open its editor, where you can regenerate that shot with AI or drag and drop your own image or video onto it.
  • Narration: one scrolling text field holds the Short's full voiceover, broken into paragraphs that match how the narration was generated. Editing the text saves your draft automatically, but doesn't regenerate audio while you type.
  • Change the host: swap the voice narrating the Short from the host button above the narration field. This marks the narration stale so you can regenerate it in the new voice, at no credit cost.
  • Replace or remove the music: the original instrumental score can be swapped or removed from the music control in the visuals rail or the bottom Timeline panel, but not customized further.
  • Add or change a watermark/logo: click Add Logo/Watermark in the visuals rail or the bottom Timeline panel to overlay a logo (PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 5 MB, any aspect ratio) in a corner of the preview and final video. Available on the Creator plan and above; see Creating Shorts.
  • Fix pronunciations: click the pronunciation icon beside the save status, in the narration toolbar, to open your organization's Pronunciation Guide without leaving the page.

To see how your edits land on the timeline, click Expand Timeline at the bottom of the workspace. The timeline preview stays collapsed by default so you can focus on the visuals and narration, and Jellypod reflows the timing automatically as you make changes.

Sharing and Downloading

From the Short's page, use:

  • Share: opens a dialog with the Short's public share link. If the narration is out of date or no render exists yet, the same dialog has a Render Video (or Re-render Latest Version) button to produce one; re-rendering pushes your latest edits to the same shared link.
  • Download: downloads the current render directly. Download doesn't trigger a render itself; if no render exists yet, render it first from the Share dialog.

You can also download a Short's current render straight from its card in the Shorts Library, without opening the workspace; see Card Actions above.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if a Short fails to generate?

Its card in the Shorts Library shows Needs attention with Retry generation and Delete buttons. Retrying restarts generation; deleting removes it permanently.

Can I change the aspect ratio of a Short?

Not after generation starts. Orientation is chosen when you create the Short, automatically based on duration or manually; see [Creating Shorts](/docs/help/podcasts-and-episodes/creating-shorts). Create a new Short to use a different orientation.

Can I regenerate the whole Short at once?

No. Rewrite narration, regenerate individual visuals, or replace the music instead, or delete a failed Short and create a new one for a different result.

Why can't I render or download my Short after editing the narration?

Text edits save as a draft but don't regenerate audio automatically. Regenerate the affected paragraph, or all stale paragraphs at once, from the narration toolbar first; rendering, downloading, and re-sharing stay disabled until the audio matches your latest text.

Can I tell Jellypod what to change when I regenerate a visual?

Yes. Opening a visual's editor gives you an optional field to describe what should change; leave it blank for a fresh AI interpretation of the same moment.

Can I search or filter my Shorts Library?

Not currently. The library lists every Short in your workspace, sorted by most recently updated, 10 per page, with no search box or style filter.

Can I delete a Short after it finishes generating?

Yes. Open the ••• menu on its card in the Shorts Library and choose Delete. This works at any stage, generating, finished, or failed, and permanently removes the Short along with its renders and generated media.

Can I rename a Short?

Yes. Open the ••• menu on its card in the Shorts Library and choose Rename to give it a new title, up to 120 characters.

Can I download a Short without opening it?

Yes. Its card in the Shorts Library has a Download button that downloads the current render directly, as long as one exists.
