Export to your LMS with SCORM
Download podcasts and videos as SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 packages with learner completion tracking and resume. Included with Business and Enterprise.
Export an Episode, Video, Short, or Voiceover as a self-contained SCORM ZIP and upload it to your learning management system (LMS). SCORM exports are included with Business and Enterprise and require an eligible trial or active plan.
The package contains the media and a player that reports learner progress and completion to your LMS. Learners can resume from their last saved position. Captions, a transcript, and your workspace logo are included when available.
Download a SCORM package
- Open your Episode, Video, Short, or Voiceover in the editor and click Download. You can also use the download dialog on an Episode page.
- Choose Download as SCORM.
- Set the File name and Completion criteria. The completion threshold defaults to 90% and can be set from 5% to 100% in 5% steps.
- Choose SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 4th Edition under File type. SCORM 1.2 offers the widest compatibility, including Moodle and TalentLMS. Choose SCORM 2004 only if your LMS supports its 4th Edition.
- For Episodes, choose Audio (MP3) or Video (MP4) under Media. Videos, Shorts, and Voiceovers export as video.
- Optionally check Prevent skipping ahead to limit seeking to content the learner has already played.
- Click Download. Jellypod prepares the media and packages it into a ZIP.
- Upload the ZIP to your LMS as a SCORM activity or course package. Keep the ZIP intact unless your LMS instructs otherwise.
Editor downloads save your pending edits and render the current version. Episode-page downloads use your latest saved edits. If narration needs updating, Jellypod asks whether to regenerate audio or render with the existing audio. See Download an Episode for render messages and audio choices.
Choose a format for your LMS
Use the version and edition documented by your LMS. Jellypod exports SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 4th Edition. A product that says it supports SCORM 2004 may support a different edition.
| LMS | Format guidance from vendor documentation |
|---|---|
| Moodle | Use 1.2 for the native SCORM activity. Moodle's FAQ says native SCORM 2004 support is not maintained. |
| TalentLMS | Use 1.2. Its supported protocols list SCORM 1.2. |
| Docebo | Use 1.2 for Jellypod exports. Docebo's guide lists 2004 3rd Edition, which differs from Jellypod's 4th Edition. |
| 360Learning | Its eLearning import guide lists 1.2 and 2004 4th Edition. Confirm the player your organization uses. |
| Litmos | Its content authoring page lists 1.2 and 2004. Confirm 4th Edition with your administrator before choosing 2004. |
| Cornerstone | Confirm the supported version and edition with your LMS administrator before exporting. |
These are vendor format claims, not tested Jellypod compatibility results. See SCORM 1.2 versus 2004 for the practical differences.
Test before assigning learners
Upload one exported ZIP to your LMS or SCORM Cloud. Use a test learner to launch it, play part of the media, exit, and reopen it to check resume. Finish enough media to reach the completion threshold, then inspect the learner's completion record. Check the devices and browsers your learners use.
A successful reference-player test does not replace testing in your own LMS. Jellypod has not published SCORM Cloud or individual LMS compatibility certification for these packages.
Learner progress and completion
Completion is based on the portion of the media the learner has watched or listened to. Seeking past a section does not count it as completed. Once the learner reaches your threshold, the package reports a passed status in SCORM 1.2, or completed and passed statuses in SCORM 2004.
Progress and the playback position save to the LMS during playback and when the learner pauses or exits. Resume depends on the LMS retaining that learner's attempt. Previewing the player outside an LMS does not save learner progress.
The package reports playback completion. It does not include quizzes or assessment scores.
Plans and troubleshooting
If you see Upgrade to Business, your workspace needs a plan that includes SCORM exports. See Plans and Pricing.
If a download fails, follow the error in the dialog and try again. The media must finish rendering before packaging. For video render problems, see Video Generation Failures.
If your LMS rejects the package, confirm it supports the selected SCORM version and accepts the ZIP's file size. If the player says Preview mode, open the package through your LMS's learner view so it can connect to the LMS and save progress.
