Podcast analytics: plays, countries and top episodes
Enable analytics for a podcast and read total plays, plays over time, top countries, apps, devices, browsers and top episodes, or share a stats card.
Analytics are per podcast: there is no dashboard across podcasts. Open a podcast in the Studio and choose the Analytics tab. This page is part of Publishing and Distribution.
Turn analytics on
A podcast with analytics off shows Analytics not enabled. Click Enable Analytics, or switch on Analytics under Advanced in the podcast editor. With analytics on, the audio links in your RSS feed are tracked. Plays are recorded through those tracked links, so turn analytics on before you promote a show.
A Private podcast has no RSS feed served, so it gets no RSS plays. To put a player on another site, see Embedding your podcast.
What each card shows
Audio downloads and video plays are counted together as plays.
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Summary | Total Plays, Last 30 days, Last 7 days and Top country |
| Plays Over Time | Daily bars, defaulting to the last 90 days. The date picker changes the range, and hovering a bar shows that day's count |
| Top Countries | Your 10 biggest audiences by country, with a month selector |
| Top Apps | Where people play, as a share of plays. Video plays on your Jellypod website appear as Jellypod |
| Top Devices and Top Browsers | Device types and browsers, as a share of plays |
| Top Episodes | Plays per published episode for First Day, First 7 Days, First 30 Days, First 90 Days and All Time, measured from each episode's publish date |
Sort Top Episodes by clicking a column header. It starts sorted by First 90 Days. Click an episode title to open it in the Studio.
Video play limits
Video plays are read from Jellypod's video hosting, and only the most recent 90 days of them are counted. Total Plays is therefore all-time audio downloads plus the last 90 days of video plays, so it can drop as older video plays age out. The footnote under the table says 100 days, but the count uses 90.
Share a stats card
Click Share Stats beside the date picker on Plays Over Time to preview a stats card for the selected dates. Pick Square (1:1), Portrait (9:16) or Landscape (16:9), then Download the image or, on devices that support it, Share. If sharing fails, download it instead.
If the tab shows Error loading analytics, try again later.
