Episodes not showing on Spotify, Apple or YouTube
Fix new episodes missing from Spotify, Apple Podcasts or YouTube: check episode status, visibility, feed URL, then update the RSS URL in each platform.
Podcast apps read your episodes from your RSS feed, so a missing episode is either not in the feed yet or the platform is reading the wrong URL. Work through these checks in order. For the other publishing tools, see Publishing and Distribution.
Why are my episodes not showing on Spotify?
- Episode status. The episode must be Published, not Draft or Scheduled. See episode statuses.
- Visibility. The podcast must be Public. A Private podcast has no feed. See podcast visibility.
- Feed URL. Open your podcast in the Studio and click RSS Feed to copy the current URL (see your RSS feed). It should match the URL the platform has on file.
- Feed opens as XML. Paste the URL into a browser. You should see XML listing your episodes.
Changing your subdomain changes the feed URL, and the old URL stops working. See changing your subdomain. Adding a custom domain switches the feed URL shown in Jellypod to your custom domain. The /rss feed keeps answering on both hosts, but copy the new URL and update the platform if you want it to match.
An inactive subscription replaces the feed with a single notice episode until you resubscribe.
How do I update the RSS URL on a platform?
If the platform holds an old address, replace it with your current feed URL. Older jellypod.ai addresses redirect to jellypod.com, but some platforms do not follow redirects, so a feed submitted under jellypod.ai can fail silently. Menu names on these sites change, so look for the show's settings or RSS feed field.
- Spotify: sign in to Spotify for Podcasters, open your show's settings, and replace the RSS feed URL.
- Apple Podcasts: sign in to Apple Podcasts for Creators, select the show, and replace the RSS feed URL.
- YouTube: in YouTube Studio, open Podcasts, remove the existing podcast feed, then submit the current feed URL again. Removing and resubmitting is usually the fastest fix here.
To submit a feed for the first time, follow distributing to podcast apps.
How long until a new episode appears?
Jellypod caches feed responses for about 5 minutes. After that, platforms pick up new episodes anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours later, and YouTube is usually the slowest. If an episode is still missing after 24 hours and the checks above pass, contact support and include your feed URL. Open Help & Support in the Studio sidebar to chat with the team, or email support@jellypod.com.
