Unpublish an episode and republish it later
Pull a published episode from your RSS feed and website, keep all its content as a draft, and republish it for free when you are ready.
Unpublishing takes a published episode out of your RSS feed and podcast website and returns it to Draft. Nothing is deleted: the audio, script and sources stay intact. This page is part of Publishing and Distribution.
To fix something in a live episode, you don't need to unpublish. See updating a published episode.
How to unpublish
Open the dropdown menu on a published episode and click Unpublish Episode. The episode's status changes to Draft right away and it leaves your podcast website and RSS feed. The feed can take a few minutes to update (see your RSS feed). The option appears only on published episodes.
Podcast apps that already downloaded the episode may keep showing it until they refresh their feeds.
Uploaded episodes behave the same way, and republishing brings the same file back live.
Scheduled episodes
A scheduled episode has no Unpublish Episode option. Click Cancel Schedule in the episode menu instead, which returns it to Draft. See scheduling episodes.
Republish
Republishing is free. Unpublishing clears the episode's original publish date.
Remove an episode for good
Unpublishing keeps the episode in your library. To remove it permanently, see delete an episode.
