Characters and voices: create, manage and choose voices
Characters are the reusable AI personas that host and narrate your content. See the default characters and find guides for voices, cloning, languages and pronunciation.
A character is a reusable persona with a name, identity, personality and voice. Characters are shared across your workspace, so one character can host your AI Podcasts, Magic Video, Shorts and Voiceovers. Each of those takes up to four hosts, and every narration paragraph names the host who speaks it.
Default Characters
Every new workspace starts with two characters, assigned to your first podcast. You can edit their backstories, swap their voices, archive them or create your own at any time.
Jellypod keeps a dedicated starter pair for each of its 121 supported languages, plus British and Australian English. It picks the pair for your signup accent when one exists, then for your browser's language, and otherwise falls back to the English pair.
The English pair:
- Claire Brooks: a sharp American character with firm editorial delivery who keeps the pace moving and makes complicated stories feel approachable.
- Marcus Hayes: a warm American character who turns dense topics into plain-English stories, good for deep dives and explainers.
British and Australian signups get their own pair instead:
- Theo Ashworth and Nell Harding (British): Theo thinks out loud in an easy, warm tone; Nell keeps the conversation moving with a clear, confident delivery and isn't afraid to push back.
- Lachlan Reed and Tessa Brennan (Australian): Lachlan brings a laid-back, punchy energy; Tessa keeps things plain and unhurried, checking in before moving on.
