Create your first episode: generate, review, publish

Sign up and explore Studio for free without a card. Choose Skip and continue during onboarding to browse voices, prepare sources, and explore creation settings. When ready to generate content, start an eligible 7-day trial (payment method required) or choose a plan. See Free exploration and trial eligibility.

This walkthrough assumes you have a podcast (see What is Jellypod for the overview, or Creating Your First Podcast to set one up). You describe the episode, and the Podcast Agent researches, writes the script and generates the audio.

Pick a podcast

From the Studio dashboard, click Create a Podcast Episode and choose your podcast. Or open a podcast and use the Create New Episode box above its episode list. A podcast with no episodes shows Create your first episode instead of a table; use the same box.

Describe the episode

Type your idea into the chat input, or click one of the suggestions based on your show. Be specific about topic, tone and format; Tips for Better Prompts shows what works.

Before sending, you can set:

• Hosts: default to the podcast's hosts. Override them for this episode.
• Duration: defaults to 7 minutes. Click the stopwatch button to pick a preset: 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Episode length limits by plan are in Jellypod plans, limits and free trial. If the written script runs more than half over its target length, Jellypod cuts it back to the target before generating audio.
• Auto-publish: off by default, so the episode stays a draft for you to review. Turn it on to publish as soon as generation completes.
• Include show notes: on by default. Lists your sources in the episode description.

Attach sources with the + button: websites, YouTube videos, pasted text, or uploaded files. See What Are Sources?. To start from a finished script instead of a prompt, click Upload Script (on mobile, open Settings first); see Use Your Own Script.

To plan several episodes at once, open a podcast and click Generate a Multi-Episode Series, or see Generating Multiple Episodes at Once.

Click send to start.

Watch it generate

The agent writes the script and generates the audio in one pass, with no outline to approve. Each line assigned to a host becomes its own audio segment, voiced with that host.

The new episode appears in the podcast's episode list, and its row shows live progress. Generation continues if you close the tab or leave the page. The row cannot be opened until the first playable line exists, so clicking it while generating shows a reminder. Once it can open, the episode opens in the Script Editor. See Episode Statuses for what each status means.

Narration uses credits when it is first generated; see Understanding Credits for rates. If generation fails, clicking the row opens a Generation failed dialog; see If Episode Generation Fails.

Review the script and audio

Play the episode and read along in the Script Editor. Edit the text in any speech block, then use Regenerate Audio on that block to re-voice only that segment. See Regenerating Individual Segments.

Publish

If you turned on Auto-publish, the episode is already live. Otherwise, click Publish Episode. Your podcast website and RSS feed update right away. See Publishing an Episode for updating a live episode, scheduling and connected platforms.
