Buy extra credits: top-ups, price and minimum

Top-ups add credits to your balance without changing your plan or renewal. They cost $10 per 1,000 credits, with a minimum of 1,000. See How credits are consumed for what generations cost.

Who can buy

You need billing permission (typically the Admin role). Top-ups are available on Starter, Educator, Creator, Business and Enterprise (including during a trial). Without an active subscription, the Purchase Credits button is disabled and the card says "Subscribe to a plan to purchase credits." Other members see "You do not have permission to manage billing" in Usage & Billing (part of Account and Billing).

Buy credits

1. Go to Settings > Usage & Billing and find the Purchase Credits card.
2. Under Choose quantity, pick 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 or 20,000, or pick Other and type an amount.
3. Check Current balance, New credits, New balance and Total.
4. Click Purchase Credits.

Custom amounts must be multiples of 1,000, and other values round up to the next 1,000. If you have a card on file, it is charged right away and the credits appear in your balance. If there is no saved card, or the card is declined or needs extra authentication, you finish through Stripe checkout instead. If the payment is still processing, the credits arrive when it settles. How top-up credits behave

• Top-ups are one-time purchases and never expire.
• They are spent after your plan's monthly credits.
• They stay in your account if your subscription ends, for if you resubscribe.

If you top up often, a higher plan includes more monthly credits.
