Archiving a Podcast

Archiving hides a podcast from your everyday work without unpublishing anything. Use it for shows you're pausing or no longer actively producing but don't want to delete.

How to Archive a Podcast

1. Open the podcast and click the actions menu (the three-dot icon).
2. Select Archive Podcast.
3. Confirm in the dialog that appears. It reminds you that the podcast leaves your active list and stops showing up when you create episodes, and that your website and RSS feed stay live.

Jellypod takes you back to the Podcasts list, where the archived podcast is hidden by default. When you open it again (see Finding an Archived Podcast), its header shows an Archived badge in place of its visibility badge, and the episode composer is replaced by a notice explaining the podcast is archived.

What Stays the Same

Archiving only changes what you see in the Studio. It never changes Visibility, so:

• The podcast's website, RSS feed, and share links keep working exactly as before.
• Already-published episodes stay published and reachable everywhere they were.
• Any automation already targeting the podcast keeps running on schedule.

What Changes

• The podcast drops off your active Podcasts list by default; see Finding an Archived Podcast below.
• It no longer appears in the podcast picker when creating a new episode or a new automation.
• You can't create new episodes for it until you unarchive it.

Unarchiving a Podcast

Open the archived podcast and either click Unarchive Podcast in the notice that replaced the episode composer, or select Unarchive Podcast from the actions menu. You stay on the podcast page: the episode composer comes back right away, and the podcast returns to your active list.

Finding an Archived Podcast

Click the filter icon next to Create New Podcast on the Podcasts page and open Status. Choose:

• Active: the default view; hides archived podcasts.
• Archived: shows only archived podcasts.
• All: shows every podcast regardless of status.

The same filter menu has a Sort by option:

• Episode Count: the default; podcasts with the most episodes first.
• Recent episodes: orders podcasts by their newest episode, putting podcasts with no episodes last.
• Alphabetical: orders podcasts by title, ignoring case.

Your choices are saved in the page's URL, so they survive a refresh, and a plain link to Podcasts always opens to the defaults.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does archiving unpublish my podcast's website or RSS feed?

No. Archiving only affects the Studio. Your website, RSS feed, and directory listings (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and so on) keep serving the podcast until you delete it.

Where do I end up after archiving?

On the Podcasts list, showing your active podcasts. The archived podcast is hidden there until you switch the Status filter to Archived or All.

What happens to automations for an archived podcast?

Existing automations keep running on their schedule. Only the picker for creating a new automation hides archived podcasts.

How do I see an archived podcast again?

Open the filter icon on the Podcasts page, open Status, and choose Archived or All.

Is archiving reversible?

Yes. Unarchive it anytime from the actions menu or the notice on the podcast page, with no loss of content or settings.
